Red and Green Kangaroo Paws line the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail in the Perth Hills at the moment and we get to enjoy them on our morning walks. 🙂
It seems odd to depict them in black and white, but then it is Inktober and I set myself the additional challenge of only using black ink…
The colourful Red and Green Kangaroo Paw, Anigozanthos manglesii, is the floral emblem of Western Australia.
We have been treated to so many Kangaroo Paws this spring, the close ups of huge flowers and far away red stems seen through the bush. The attraction of course is vivid colour so to bring them to life in black and white is some achivement :-)xx
🙂 x I remember dreaming of television programs viewed in black and white – somehow they were dreamed in full colour!
I think it’s okay to bend the rules and add color to your ink drawing…but this is lovely as is, too!
Thank you! 🙂
